VANRATH are delighted to be supporting a Public Sector employer who are actively seeking an Admin Assistant to join their team on a short-term contract basis. This is an urgent requirement offering an immediate start date.

Responsibilities:
- Provide a professional administrative service for the organisation.
- Carry out general administrative duties, including taking and relaying messages as appropriate when required.
- Handle general operational enquiries and refer to others as necessary.
- Assist with the organisation and logistics of meetings, including room bookings and hospitality arrangements.
- Provide administrative and secretarial support by completing defined tasks and projects, including word processing, data entry using internal systems, working with spreadsheets, managing communication with service users, colleagues, and external suppliers (face-to-face and via telephone), photocopying, and scanning.
- Support the maintenance of central, specialised, and other records and document management systems (both physical and electronic).
- Ensure records are stored correctly and are easy to retrieve.
- Update electronic records, perform data input, and generate reports and performance statistics as required.
- Assist with file archiving, including arranging appropriate storage and transport.
- Undertake other duties of a similar level of responsibility as may reasonably be required from time to time.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) or 1 year of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
