VANRATH is partnering with a well‑established, highly respected insurance brokerage to recruit an experienced Account Executive. This role will play a key part in driving new business growth while protecting and developing an existing client portfolio, operating within agreed procedures and all regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will balance commercial activity with strong client relationship management, ensuring high retention levels and consistent delivery against income targets. The candidate can be based anywhere in Northern Ireland, and will be doing frequent field visits. There are multiple branches all over Northern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively generate new business opportunities through referrals, introducer relationships, pipeline development, win‑back activity and targeted cross‑selling to existing clients.
- Deliver comprehensive fact‑finding to identify client risks, coverage gaps and insurance requirements, presenting tailored solutions and converting prospects into long‑term clients.
- Manage and grow client relationships throughout the policy lifecycle, maintaining regular contact and providing relevant market or sector updates.
- Work closely with internal servicing teams to ensure responsibilities for renewals, mid‑term adjustments and new business activity are clearly aligned and effectively shared.
- Liaise with a broad panel of insurer partners to negotiate competitive terms and appropriate levels of cover for clients.
- Ensure all client records, documentation and system data are accurate, complete and maintained in line with company standards and regulatory obligations.
- Oversee timely issuance of policy documentation, follow‑up correspondence and diary management to ensure a high standard of client support.
- Maintain and develop strong technical and market knowledge, staying informed of industry trends and acting as a point of reference for specific areas of expertise when required.
- Support the wider team with premium collection activity and the achievement of agreed aged debt targets.
- Adhere fully to FCA requirements, including complaints handling, disclosure obligations and insurer communication standards.
Key Performance Indicators
- Delivery of new business income, including cross‑sell and up‑sell targets where applicable.
- Achievement of renewal retention targets (by value and policy count).
- Quality and volume of pipeline activity, including prospects quoted and converted.
- Contribution to the management and reduction of aged debt.
The Ideal Candidate
- Senior insurance sales experience up to Account Executive level.
- High level knowledge of various classes of insurance.
