We are assisting our client, a large public sector organisation, in searching for a Handyperson for a three‑month contract initially with the possibility of extension. You will be based mainly at the Portadown site.
Responsibilities
- Carry out general repair works on housing stock.
- External Repairs
- Carry out ground works, concrete repairs and installation, flagging and garden maintenance.
- Erect and repair fences and gates.
- Excavate and lay pipes, clear blockages and repair foul and storm water drainage systems, and power washing.
- Repair gutters, down pipes and soil pipes.
- Minor roof/patch repairs.
- Assist with erecting scaffolding.
- Perform general handyman duties.
- Internal Maintenance
- Minor plastering repairs, including boarding.
- Minor plumbing, joinery and painting work.
- Fit level access shower trays and drainage.
- Apply levelling compound to floor and repair concrete floors.
- Floor and wall tiling and install non-slip flooring in small areas.
- Carry out house clear outs.
- Perform general handyman duties.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Preferred experience with wet‑room installation.
- Practical experience in building, joinery, mechanical/electrical maintenance, or grounds maintenance.
- Understanding of basic repair and maintenance issues.
- Current UK driving licence.
- Good communication skills and ability to prioritise workloads.
Remuneration
£27,254 per annum, plus discount benefits. A form of transport will be provided to enable the post holder to carry out their duties.
