We are assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for an Estates Maintenance Assistant for 6 months initially with the possibility of extension. This role will be based in Lisburn.
The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplined Estates Operations Team, primarily carrying out semi-skilled maintenance duties.
Responsibilities- Carry out supervised and unsupervised repairs and maintenance on a range of electrical, mechanical, and building equipment.
- Operate plant and equipment associated with these tasks.
- Accompany tradespersons as required in carrying out a range of mechanical, electrical and building duties.
- Assist in the training of new employees.
- Work across all disciplines, with a minimum of supervision, in a safe and effective manner.
- Carry out unsupervised minor repairs and routine maintenance, managed by Estates Supervisor, within the competency level of the post.
- Use relevant tools and equipment that does not justify the attention of a fully qualified tradesperson, for example, replacement of ball floats and toilet seats, bleeding LPHW radiators, and assist in the mechanical replacement of taps/washers.
- Carry out the erection of shelving, other storage equipment and flat pack furniture.
- Perform other labouring duties as required on a day to day basis.
- Carry out minor repairs to ironmongery including locks, doors and tightening hinges.
- 2 years’ experience working in a mechanical, electrical or building trades/estates environment.
- Ability to use tools as appropriate to a maintenance environment.
- Experience in an industrial/commercial environment with knowledge of plant equipment.
- Must have a valid CSR Card.
- Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment.
£24,937 per annum, plus discount benefits.
