An established and globally recognised engineering business is seeking an experienced Installation & Commissioning Manager to lead successful delivery of complex projects across an international customer base. This is a senior leadership role, responsible for managing installation and commissioning activities across a full project portfolio, ensuring delivery against customer expectations, budgets, and quality standards.
The Role
Reporting to the Business Line Director, you will lead a team of service and commissioning engineers, ensuring a high‑quality, efficient and customer‑focused installation service. You will play a key role in shaping strategy, improving processes, and driving best practice across all installation and commissioning activities. You will work closely with project management, operations, and commercial teams to ensure projects are planned effectively, executed efficiently, and delivered on schedule.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, developing and mentoring a team of installation and commissioning engineers
- Reviewing current installation and commissioning processes, identifying gaps, and implementing best practice improvements
- Ensuring all installation activities are planned in line with operational capacity, customer expectations, and project timelines
- Driving performance through KPI tracking, reporting, and data‑led decision making
- Supporting project planning and pricing teams with realistic timelines and resource requirements
- Ensuring site readiness and internal readiness processes are robust and consistently applied
- Managing subcontractors, ensuring competency, compliance, and alignment with company standards
- Maintaining strong communication with senior stakeholders on project progress, risks, and challenges
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations and best practice
- Driving continuous improvement across installation and commissioning activities
Candidate Profile
- Third‑level qualification in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong leadership experience in an installation and commissioning environment
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines
- Strong technical engineering background with hands‑on experience
- Experience in customer‑facing roles within engineering or manufacturing
- Knowledge of plant optimisation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Experience with washing and/or recycling equipment is highly desirable
- Excellent problem‑solving, planning, and organisational skills
- Ability to influence at both strategic and operational levels
- Full clean driving licence and valid passport, with willingness to travel internationally
