About the Employer
One of the UK’s largest food distributors, operating five strategically located depots with a turnover of £275m. We specialise in ambient, chilled and frozen products, serving a broad customer base with a trusted multi‑temperature fleet.
About You
- Proven transport management experience in food manufacturing, FMCG or distribution
- Holder of a CPC in Transport Management (essential)
- Strong knowledge of DVSA regulations, operator licences and health & safety compliance
- Track record in cost control, route optimisation and operational efficiency
- Leadership experience managing and developing drivers and logistics teams
- Proficient with TMS and fleet tracking software
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Desirable: NEBOSH or IOSH certification, telematics and logistics automation experience
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage daily transport operations for timely, cost‑effective deliveries
- Ensure compliance with all transport legislation and health & safety standards
- Oversee fleet maintenance, vehicle records, driver hours and infringements
- Control operational costs, including diesel usage and fleet efficiency
- Plan routes and optimise delivery schedules
