An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Estimator to join a growing engineering organisation delivering projects across the utilities, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. This role offers the chance to be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from initial enquiry and tender stage through to project delivery, providing accurate and commercially competitive estimates for a wide range of electrical engineering projects.
Working closely with design engineers, project managers, suppliers, and clients, you will play a key role in securing new business and supporting successful project execution.
The Role
As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing client requirements, preparing detailed technical and commercial quotations, and ensuring all estimates are aligned with project specifications and business objectives. You will work collaboratively with internal teams to develop cost-effective solutions while identifying opportunities to add value and improve project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate electrical cost estimates and tender submissions from client specifications and enquiry documents.
- Review technical requirements and develop commercially competitive quotations.
- Liaise with engineering, design, and project delivery teams to ensure estimate accuracy.
- Source pricing and technical information from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Evaluate project risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
- Support projects throughout the full lifecycle, from enquiry through to completion.
- Assist with project handovers and provide commercial support where required.
- Maintain estimating records, pricing databases, and tender documentation.
- Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and health & safety standards.
The Person
Applicants should possess:
- Previous experience in an Electrical Estimator, Electrical Engineer, Controls Engineer, or similar technical role.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, switchgear, control systems, and instrumentation.
- Experience interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach.

Desirable Experience
- Experience with LV and MV electrical systems.
