An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Construction Site Manager to lead a high-profile restoration project based in London. This 18-month permanent position offers flexibility to transition to future projects in the UK Mainland upon completion.
Our client is a well-established main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex building and heritage restoration schemes across the UK. The project involves the restoration of listed buildings, requiring a confident, hands-on professional capable of operating at senior stakeholder level.
Accommodation is provided in a newly converted apartment (shared with three subcontractors) located just four minutes from site. Utilities are fully covered, and flights home to Northern Ireland can be facilitated on alternate weekends.
The Ideal Person
- Proven experience as a CSR Site Manager
- Holds SMSTS (or equivalent) certification
- Strong building construction background (trade background highly desirable – not electrical or mechanical)
- Demonstrable experience working on restoration or listed building projects
- Ability to read, interpret and challenge drawings and specifications
- Confident in stakeholder engagement and capable of leading meetings with senior contractors
- Proactive, professional, and commercially aware
- Hands-on approach with the ability to oversee works such as stone removal and replacement
Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for day-to-day site operations on a listed building restoration project
- Manage subcontractors and coordinate trades on site
- Oversee specialist restoration works, including stone removal and replacement
- Ensure works are delivered in line with drawings, programme, and quality standards
- Chair site meetings and liaise confidently with senior management and key stakeholders
- Maintain strict health & safety compliance in line with CSR and industry regulations
- Monitor programme delivery and proactively resolve on-site challenges
- Ensure the highest standards of workmanship appropriate to heritage projects
