A large public sector organisation is seeking a Maintenance Officer for a 3-month contract, with the possibility of extension. The role is based primarily at the Coleraine site.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out inspections of properties on a set timetable to authorise housing executives’ contractors to carry out necessary maintenance work.
- Conduct inspections to ensure works performed meet acceptable standards and can be authorised for payment.
- Inform tenants of maintenance policies and their responsibilities, and provide information on the progress and timeframes for works in their homes.
- Identify deficiencies in maintenance service delivery and alert the contractor for remedial action.
- Liaise with housing executive staff, particularly those involved in allocation of homes, to ensure that vacated houses have required works completed so they can be re-let promptly.
Requirements:
- A degree in Building Studies (or equivalent) with 1 year relevant experience.
- A BTEC Higher Diploma in Building Studies (or equivalent) with 2 years relevant experience.
- A minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
- Relevant experience will be considered if it involves working on the design, improvement or maintenance of domestic properties.
Remuneration:
Hourly rate ranging from £16.90 to £18.85, plus discount benefits.
