Step into a confidential HR role where your employee relations expertise will help shape how managers handle complex people matters — and where your advice makes day-to-day work fair, consistent, and legally compliant. This position sits within a newly established Business Support function, supporting multiple internal departments and strengthening delivery against the organisation’s people priorities.

Salary: GBP20.29 - GBP20.29 per annum

37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Flexible working arrangements, with the possibility of working from home for part of your week.

About your next employer:

You’ll join a Business Support function within a Corporate & Support Services directorate, delivering HR support across the organisation. Reporting to an HR Manager (Employee Relations) you’ll work closely with line managers and senior stakeholders, helping bring the HR Business Plan to life while supporting wider organisational goals.

About you:

  • Full, current CIPD membership (Associate or Chartered)
  • A degree (any discipline) and relevant experience — or equivalent experience in HR/employee relations
  • Strong experience advising managers on HR cases with employee relations implications
  • Experience working through complex cases such as sickness, discipline, grievance, dignity & respect, and performance/capability
  • Confidence working with sensitive matters, including processes that may involve employment litigation or Tribunal outcomes
  • Well-developed communication skills, with the ability to build trust and treat people fairly

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience chairing recruitment and selection panels and applying equality legislation
  • Experience developing and/or implementing HR policies, training, or employee relations initiatives
  • Experience working closely with employment solicitors
  • Experience working with Trade Unions to maintain a constructive industrial relations environment

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • CIPD membership required (Associate/Chartered)
  • Degree (any discipline) plus relevant experience — or equivalent experience as outlined in the person specification

Other Requirements:

  • Full current driving licence and access to a vehicle (or access to transport that enables you to carry out the duties)
  • Flexibility to work outside normal office hours as required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle information in line with GDPR
