You’ll be joining a progressive local authority within its Arts & Culture service, helping to deliver a diverse programme of theatre productions, concerts, conferences and community events.
About you
- Degree in Technical Theatre (or equivalent) or significant industry experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a theatre or live production environment
- Strong knowledge of theatre Health & Safety legislation
- Experience in at least one specialist area such as lighting, sound, stage management or audiovisual production
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to supervise casual staff and work collaboratively with visiting companies
- Flexible approach with availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Full driving licence (or access to suitable transport)
What you’ll do
- Deliver the technical requirements for theatre productions, conferences and live events
- Operate and supervise lighting, sound, staging and audiovisual equipment
- Act as the technical point of contact for visiting production companies and performers
- Lead show get-ins, rehearsals, performances and load-outs
- Coordinate casual technicians and freelance crew
- Carry out technical inductions and health & safety briefings
- Undertake equipment maintenance, inspections and inventory management
- Support risk assessments, safe systems of work and statutory compliance
- Assist with procurement, budgeting and technical planning
- Work across multiple venues to ensure high-quality technical delivery and customer service
