We are supporting a leading investment banking client in London who is looking for an experienced IAM Business Analyst to join a long-term cyber and identity programme. This role will focus heavily on Identity & Access Management (IAM), secure file transfer (SFTP) onboarding and governance, access controls, and supporting secure integration activities across multiple banking platforms and applications. The successful candidate will work closely with cybersecurity, infrastructure, application, and data teams to ensure secure access management, compliance alignment, and smooth delivery across ETL and secure data transfer initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the IAM Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting secure file transfer (SFTP) setup, onboarding, integration, and access management activities.
  • Configure and support SFTP connectivity, authentication methods, user provisioning, and secure access processes in line with banking security standards.
  • Implement and maintain IAM controls including:
    • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
    • Segregation of Duties (SoD)
    • Least Privilege Access
    • Joiner/Mover/Leaver lifecycle management
  • Support ETL and data integration initiatives by coordinating secure access and file transfer requirements across systems and environments.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, cybersecurity, application, and operational teams to resolve access-related issues and ensure secure onboarding processes.
  • Gather and document business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, and access governance documentation.
  • Support audit, risk, and compliance activities by maintaining evidence, controls documentation, and governance standards.
  • Participate within Agile delivery teams, managing user stories, tasks, dependencies, and delivery tracking through Jira.
  • Assist with access reviews, recertification activities, and governance reporting where required.

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience working as an IAM Business Analyst within banking or financial services environments.
  • Good understanding of Identity & Access Management principles and governance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience supporting SFTP onboarding, secure file transfer solutions, and authentication processes.
  • Experience with:
    • RBAC
    • SoD controls
    • Access governance
    • User lifecycle management
    • Least privilege models
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity and compliance-driven projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Financial services or investment banking experience.
  • Exposure to ETL/data integration programmes.
  • Familiarity with IAM platforms such as CyberArk, SailPoint, Saviynt, Okta, Entra ID, or similar technologies.
  • Understanding of audit and regulatory requirements within banking environments.

Additional Information

  • 12-month initial contract
  • Hybrid working model – 4 days per week onsite in London
  • Immediate or short notice preferred
  • Competitive day rate aligned to experience (£400–£500/day range)
