Location: London, Bradford Petersfield or Chatham
Working Pattern: Hybrid (usually one day a week in the office). We welcome part-time and flexible arrangements and will aim to match your current flexibility where possible.

The Role
As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst you’ll play a critical role in shaping, delivering and optimising Existing Customer Management strategies for VBG through robust, data‑driven insight. You’ll develop deep expertise across the customer management lifecycle, understanding every aspect of decisioning and customer touchpoints. The role leads complex analytical projects that balance customer outcomes with commercial objectives, ensuring recommendations fully consider both business and customer implications. You’ll support the optimisation of lending decisions through structured test‑and‑learn initiatives, identifying champion strategies that drive growth while maintaining credit quality and responsible lending standards. With responsibility for accurate and appropriate decisioning.
- Develop expert understanding of the customer management lifecycle, including all aspects of decisioning and customer touch points.
- Support the optimisation of lending decisions through test and learn initiatives to identify champion strategies.
- Conduct detailed analytical work to interpret complex datasets, identifying opportunities for strategic improvement.
- Prepare clear, insight‑driven recommendations based on your analysis, with responsibility for developing proposals.
- Support business growth and portfolio profitability while ensuring a balance between risk, reward and responsible lending, and controlling credit quality and performance.
- Ensure lending decisions are accurate and appropriate through close tracking and monitoring.
- Perform inquisitive and innovative analysis and provide logical recommendations resulting in customer and/or business benefits.
- Deliver complex analytical/data driven projects fully incorporating Customer and business implications throughout.
- Support the automation of MI and processes to maximise integration, effectiveness and efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working within a credit cards portfolio is essential. Additional experience with structured lending products, such as vehicle finance, personal loans or mortgages is beneficial and will support broader portfolio insight.
- 3+ years’ experience in analytics, within a credit risk environment.
- Strong programming experience is essential, with proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Experience working to a high level of detail and accuracy.
