You and Your Team:
Responsible for delivering accurate, insightful, and actionable forecasts to drive strategic decision-making across the Unsecured Lending Product & Commercial function.
This individual will play a pivotal role in aligning credit card product performance with the companys financial objectives, ensuring a balance between growth and risk, and driving sustainable profitability.
In your day-to-day role, as a Commercial Manager:
Forecasting and Planning

Develop and maintain detailed financial and volume forecasts for key metrics such as customer acquisition, portfolio growth, revenue, and cost of acquisition.

Create scenario models to support the strategic planning process, incorporating external market trends and internal business drivers.

Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Data Analysis and Insights

Analyse historical data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the portfolios performance.

Provide clear and actionable insights to senior stakeholders to inform product development, pricing, customer value management and marketing strategies.

Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) across the credit card portfolio to ensure targets are met.
Collaboration with Stakeholders

Work closely with Product, Risk, Marketing, and Finance teams to align forecasting models with broader business objectives.

Support commercial strategy development through data-driven recommendations and performance evaluations.

Act as a key point of contact for senior leadership on forecasting-related queries and presentations.
Market and Risk Assessment

Stay informed about macroeconomic trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities that could impact the mid to high-risk credit card market.

Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to incorporate risk tolerances and regulatory requirements into forecasts.
Model Development and Enhancement

Build, maintain, and enhance robust forecasting models

Identify and implement improvements to forecasting methodologies to increase accuracy and reliability.

Leverage advanced tools and technologies to optimize forecasting processes.

Proven experience in a forecasting, financial planning, or analytics role, ideally within financial services.

In-depth knowledge of the UK credit card market.

Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software.

Experience working within a regulated environment and knowledge of FCA guidelines.
