Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a leading financial services organisation on an initial 10-month contract. This role will support key change and transformation initiatives, working closely with stakeholders across business and technology teams. The position is hybrid, with a requirement to be based in or able to commute to Edinburgh.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements using appropriate techniques (workshops, interviews, process mapping, etc.)
- Translate business needs into clear, structured requirements and user stories
- Work collaboratively with project managers, developers, and testers to support end-to-end project delivery
- Support project planning, scope definition, and change management activities
- Conduct impact assessments and gap analysis to support business change
- Ensure requirements align with regulatory, risk, and governance standards within financial services
- Support stakeholder engagement and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle
Required Experience & Skills
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst within financial services (banking, insurance, asset management, or similar)
- Strong understanding of financial services processes, controls, and regulatory environments
- Demonstrable experience working on change or transformation projects
- Exposure to project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
- Strong documentation skills, including business requirements, functional specifications, and process flows
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Desirable
- Experience working in hybrid Agile environments
- Knowledge of change governance and delivery frameworks within regulated organisations
- Previous experience working on large-scale or complex programmes
