Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a leading financial services organisation on a 10-month initial contract. This role will be based on a hybrid working model in Sheffield, supporting the delivery, automation, and operation of critical platforms within a highly regulated environment. You will work closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, platform reliability, and automation capabilities, with a strong focus on OpenShift.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain DevOps and automation solutions to support application delivery and platform stability

• Support and enhance OpenShift / Kubernetes platforms across development and production environments

• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment tooling

• Collaborate with developers, architects, and SRE teams to embed DevOps best practices

• Troubleshoot platform, deployment, and performance issues in complex environments

• Ensure solutions align with security, compliance, and governance standards typical of financial services

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer in enterprise environments

• Proven experience with DevOps tooling and automation (CI/CD pipelines, scripting, Infrastructure as Code)

• Solid experience working with OpenShift (or Kubernetes-based platforms)

• Experience supporting cloud and/or hybrid infrastructure platforms

• Strong Linux skills and scripting experience (e.g. Bash, Python)

• Background working in financial services or other regulated environments

Desirable Experience:

• Experience with container security, monitoring, and logging tools

• Exposure to Agile / Scrum delivery environments

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
