We are working with a leading financial services client who is seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to join their technology team on an initial 6-month contract. This role offers a hybrid working model, with three days per week required onsite in Glasgow. You'll be part of a modern engineering team delivering scalable, cloud-based solutions, working across both backend and frontend technologies in a distributed data-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications in a financial services environment
- Build and enhance backend services using Java and/or Scala
- Develop modern, responsive user interfaces using Angular or similar frameworks
- Work with distributed compute and data processing technologies
- Contribute to cloud-native solutions hosted on Azure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, architects, and data engineers
- Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and security
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong Full Stack development experience
- Backend development with Java and/or Scala
- Frontend development using Angular or a similar modern JavaScript framework
- Experience with distributed compute concepts and tools such as: Apache Spark, Databricks, Apache Beam (or similar)
- Solid experience with Azure cloud technologies
- Database experience with cloud and relational databases, e.g. Snowflake, Sybase, or similar
- Good working knowledge of Unix/Linux environments
Nice to Have
- Experience working within financial services or regulated environments
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Exposure to large-scale data platforms or analytics systems
