Our client, a leading organisation within the financial services sector, is seeking an experienced Java Developer to join their Belfast-based technology team on an initial 6-month contract (Inside IR35). This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-performance, data-driven applications within a fast-paced enterprise environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and optimising complex batch processing and integration systems using Java 17, Spring Batch, Spring Integration, and GridGain Database.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java 17 applications for enterprise data processing.
- Build and optimise batch processing solutions using Spring Batch.
- Design and implement integration flows with Spring Integration.
- Develop and tune SQL queries and stored procedures for relational databases.
- Work with GridGain Database to deliver distributed, high-performance data processing.
- Support data migration and workflow optimisation from MongoDB to GridGain.
- Automate deployment and operational tasks in Unix/Linux environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical and business teams to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong proficiency in Java 17, including modern Java features and best practices.
- Proven experience with Spring Batch and Spring Integration.
- Solid understanding of Unix/Linux scripting and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with GridGain Distributed Cache/Database.
- Experience working with MongoDB and migrating data between platforms.
- Knowledge of data modeling, distributed systems, and database architecture.
- Familiarity with Git or similar version control tools.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
