Role Description
The Pricing Manager is a full‑time, data‑orientated role responsible for owning pricing strategy and execution across every sales channel, including Amazon, e Bay, the company’s own ecommerce website, and other marketplace channels.
The person in this role will set, monitor, and optimise pricing across a large and complex licensed product catalogue, balancing margin, competitiveness, and sell‑through to maximise profitability without compromising volume.
Day‑to‑day tasks include maintaining and refining pricing across all channels, ensuring prices stay aligned with planned promotions and campaigns, and managing dynamic pricing rules in response to demand, competitor activity, seasonality, and stock position.
The Pricing Manager will work closely with the Demand Planner to connect pricing decisions to stock cover and forecasts, using dynamic pricing to help clear overstocks, protect availability on high‑demand lines, and support key seasonal peaks (World Book Day, Halloween, Black Friday, Q4).
A significant part of the role is stakeholder management, building buy‑in for pricing ideas, processes, and ways of working across e Commerce, buying, merchandising, finance, and marketplace teams, and clearly communicating the rationale and data behind pricing decisions.
The role demands strong ownership, keeping on top of pricing performance across the full project end to end and continuously improving the tools, rules, and processes that underpin it.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical, data‑orientated background with experience in pricing, revenue management, commercial analysis, or a similar data‑led commercial role, ideally within online/marketplace retail or FMCG.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, lookups) essential, with the ability to work confidently across large, granular SKU‑level datasets.
- Experience setting and managing pricing across multiple sales channels (e. g., Amazon, e Bay, ecommerce website, marketplace warehouses), and understanding how pricing differs by channel.
- Understanding of dynamic and rules‑based pricing, and the ability to build, test, and refine pricing logic that responds to demand, competition, seasonality, and stock levels.
- Ability to align pricing with promotional calendars and campaigns, ensuring consistency and accuracy across channels during key trading periods.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build belief in pricing ideas and processes and work cross‑functionally with demand planning, buying, merchandising, finance, and e Commerce teams.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to own pricing performance across a broad, fast‑moving SKU range.
- Experience with licensed or seasonal product categories, or marketplace channels such as Amazon, is highly beneficial.
