We're currently recruiting an Accountant for an established accountancy practice based in Market Harborough. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone with practice experience to join a small, friendly team and take ownership of their own client portfolio.
- £34,000 - £38,000 (pro-rata)
- 25 hours per week Monday to Friday
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays (pro-rata)

Duties and responsibilities:
- Preparation of year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns using cloud-based MTD-compliant software
- Completion of personal and corporation tax work
- Bookkeeping tasks including posting transactions, maintaining ledgers and completing bank reconciliations
- Gathering client records, following up on missing information and resolving basic queries
- Maintaining accurate working papers and ensuring deadlines are met
Required skills and experience:
- Minimum Level 3 AAT qualification
- Experience within an accountancy practice in a similar role
- Good understanding of bookkeeping principles and UK accounting and tax requirements
- Familiarity with cloud accounting platforms such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to work to deadlines
- Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility
