We are seeking an experienced Materials Planner with a strong FMCG background to join a busy supply chain team in Kettering. This role will be responsible for planning and managing raw material supply to support production plans, service levels and inventory targets. The successful candidate will be highly organised, analytical and confident working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule and manage the supply of raw materials to meet production and demand requirements
  • Maintain accurate material plans in line with forecast and sales demand
  • Monitor stock levels and ensure optimal inventory holding to avoid shortages or excess
  • Work closely with procurement, production, logistics and suppliers to ensure continuity of supply
  • Place and manage purchase orders and track deliveries against required timelines
  • Resolve material availability issues and proactively mitigate supply risks
  • Review material requirements planning data and ensure system accuracy
  • Support continuous improvement within planning and supply chain processes
  • Provide clear reporting on material availability, stock levels and risks

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a Materials Planner within an FMCG environment
  • Strong experience planning raw materials or raw goods
  • Solid understanding of supply chain planning and material requirements planning
  • Confident working with ERP and MRP systems
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret data
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving, demand-driven environment
  • Proactive, solution-focused mindset

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Experience supporting production or manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of demand planning or forecasting processes
  • CIPS qualification or supply chain related qualification
