We're delighted to be recruiting a Bookkeeper on behalf of an established SME based in Market Harborough.

This part-time Bookkeeper vacancy offers an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and friendly business, taking responsibility for a broad range of finance activities.

The role would suit an experienced Bookkeeper who enjoys maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounts processes, and supporting the wider business with finance and administrative tasks.

  • £17.00 - £20.00 per hour depending upon experience
  • 6 to 8 hours per week
  • On-site role based in Market Harborough
  • 20 days annual leave pro rata

Duties and responsibilities

  • Maintaining accurate accounting records
  • Managing sales ledger, purchase ledger and nominal ledger processes
  • Completing bank reconciliations and investigating any discrepancies identified
  • Monitoring customer accounts and carrying out credit control activities
  • Processing payroll journals and maintaining associated financial records
  • Assisting with month-end accounting duties and reporting requirements
  • Providing administrative support as and when required
  • Required skills and experience
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified
  • Previous experience working in a Bookkeeper or Bookkeeping position
  • Strong knowledge of sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations and nominal ledger management
  • Experience of credit control processes and payroll journal postings
  • Sage 50 experience is essential, with Xero knowledge being advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and administrative skills, with previous experience within an SME environment being beneficial
