We’re delighted to be recruiting an Accountant on behalf of a well‑established organisation based in Kettering. This Accountant vacancy offers a varied and responsible role within a supportive finance function, providing exposure across management accounts, reporting and operational finance, with full training available where required.
Salary: Up to £35,000
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working pattern: Office‑based role with flexi‑hours
Location: Kettering
Benefits: 25 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, life assurance, group personal pension plan, income protection, on‑site parking, flexi‑hours
Duties and responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, forecasts and financial analysis
- Maintenance of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and the fixed asset register
- Responsibility for VAT reporting and support with monthly and annual stock takes
- Assistance with the year‑end audit process, including documentation and auditor queries
- Processing payroll, expense claims, credit card statements and foreign currency petty cash
- Sales invoicing for the Irish entity and maintenance of customer accounts
- Standard costing and financial reporting for test equipment products
Required skills and experience:
- Proven all‑round accounts department experience, including involvement in monthly management accounts
- Ideally AAT qualified or part‑qualified CIMA, ACCA or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate financial information
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to support and develop others within a finance function
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Knowledge of Dynamics 365 Business Central, payroll or consolidation of accounts would be advantageous
