We’re delighted to be recruiting a Senior Payroll Administrator vacancy on behalf of a well‑established and growing accountancy practice in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a supportive payroll team, managing a varied portfolio of client payrolls while benefiting from ongoing professional development and CIPP study support.

£32,000 to £37,000 depending on experience

Full‑time, permanent position

8:00am to 4:00pm, 8:30am to 4:30pm, or 9:00am to 5:00pm with a 30‑minute lunch break

23 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Process a portfolio of weekly and monthly client payrolls from start to finish
  • Manage multiple payrolls of varying sizes and complexity, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Process starters, leavers, salary changes, statutory payments and employee record updates
  • Complete RTI submissions, year‑end procedures and statutory payroll reporting requirements
  • Administer workplace pension schemes, including Auto Enrolment processing and submissions
  • Prepare CIS returns and BACS payment files where required
  • Respond to client payroll queries, liaise with HMRC and provide a high standard of payroll support
Required skills and experience:
  • Previous experience in a Senior Payroll Administrator, Payroll Administrator or similar payroll position
  • Extensive proven end‑to‑end UK payroll experience within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice environment
  • Strong knowledge of RTI, Auto Enrolment, statutory payments and current UK payroll legislation
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client payrolls and deadlines effectively
  • Experience using payroll software, with knowledge of Sage, IRIS, Earnie or Xero Payroll considered beneficial
  • Good Microsoft Office skills and strong attention to detail
