We’re delighted to be recruiting a Senior Accountant on behalf of a family-owned accountancy practice based in Blaby. This vacancy offers the opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team, working with a varied client portfolio while building long-term professional relationships. The successful candidate will join a respected practice that places great value on client relationships, professional development and delivering a high-quality service.

Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 per annum

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 9:00am to 4:45pm, Friday 9:00am to 4:00pm (33-hour working week with a 30-minute lunch break)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of business clients
  • Produce management accounts and financial reports as required
  • Prepare and review VAT returns in line with current regulations
  • Assist with the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
  • Manage and develop client relationships, acting as a key point of contact
  • Provide accounting and taxation advice to clients
  • Review work completed by junior team members and provide guidance and support where required

Required Skills and Experience:

  • AAT qualified
  • Minimum of four years’ experience working within an accountancy practice
  • Good working knowledge of Xero (essential), Dext, QuickBooks and TaxCalc
  • Experience preparing accounts for a varied client portfolio
  • Good working knowledge of VAT and tax compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to other office locations in Leicestershire or client premises when required
