The Role

At Vanguard, Corporate Strategy is a critical enterprise-wide function that shapes the firm’s strategic agenda. The team serves Vanguard’s senior leadership with objective, high‑quality intelligence, analysis and strategic options to address complex enterprise challenges. This role sits in Vanguard’s International division (comprising Europe, Australia and LatAM) and supports work across two core areas: Strategic Consulting, providing analysis and decision support to senior leaders, and Competitive Intelligence, monitoring the external environment to inform enterprise decision‑making.

The Strategic Consulting and Business Development Specialist is a hands‑on contributor role, working closely with senior team members to deliver rigorous analysis, clear insights and high‑quality strategic materials. In this role you will:

  • Support the delivery of strategic, competitive and market analyses that inform senior leadership decision‑making across the enterprise.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand business questions, define analytical requirements and support the development of structured problem statements.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis, including market research, competitor benchmarking, financial analysis and scenario evaluation.
  • Present analysis and key findings into clear, concise insights and recommendations, contributing to presentations, briefing materials, white papers and case studies.
  • Contribute to competitive intelligence activities, including tracking industry, market, regulatory and competitor developments relevant to Vanguard’s strategy.
  • Support the preparation of materials for senior forums and leadership discussions.
  • Participate in special projects and other ad‑hoc strategic initiatives as required.

What It Takes

Typically, successful candidates will have relevant professional experience, usually from an “MBB” strategy firm, with experience across:

  • Strategy or management consulting.
  • Corporate strategy.
  • Business analysis, finance or analytically driven roles.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience working with stakeholders in a large, highly matrixed financial services organization.
  • Ability to structure analyses, draw logical conclusions and communicate findings clearly.

Special Factors

Vanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position. This is a hybrid position and would require you to work in the office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday).
