This is an opportunity to join Vanguard’s Regulatory Programme Office, supporting the firm in responding to evolving sustainability requirements and delivering clear, credible and consistent ESG reporting.

The role will contribute to assessing and implementing regulatory change, supporting sustainability disclosures, strengthening governance and controls, and improving the processes through which ESG requirements are delivered.

The successful candidate will work across global and European teams, translating complex requirements into practical business outcomes and supporting the continued development of Vanguard’s sustainability capabilities.

In this role you will

  • Analyse sustainability-related regulatory, industry and reporting requirements, assessing their implications for Vanguard’s business, products and disclosures.
  • Contribute to the preparation, review and enhancement of sustainability disclosures and related materials, ensuring they are clear, accurate and consistent.
  • Translate complex requirements and analysis into practical recommendations, detailed documentation and concise executive-level communications.
  • Partner with stakeholders across investment management, stewardship, legal, compliance, risk, data, distribution, technology and operations.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to define requirements, resolve issues and develop effective implementation solutions.
  • Support appropriate governance and oversight, including documenting decisions, escalating risks and preparing materials for relevant governance forums.
  • Review ESG data, methodologies, assumptions and supporting information, challenging where necessary to promote quality and transparency.
  • Help develop scalable processes, governance arrangements and technology-enabled solutions that support effective sustainability reporting and change delivery.
  • Coach and support junior colleagues, sharing good practice across business analysis, project delivery and sustainability reporting.
  • Build a strong understanding of Vanguard’s sustainability approach, operating model and wider industry context.

What it takes / qualifications

  • At least four years of relevant experience within sustainability reporting or sustainability regulatory change and asset management or financial services.
  • Experience analysing complex requirements and translating them into clear business actions or reporting outcomes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
  • Experience managing workstreams, priorities, stakeholders and dependencies in a complex environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a clear commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to think critically and strategically, navigate ambiguity and connect related issues across the organisation.
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse global teams.
  • A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to identify issues, progress work independently and escalating risks appropriately.
