Join us as a Regulatory Change Specialist, where you'll sit at the heart of Vanguard's enterprise-wide regulatory change program. This is a unique opportunity to influence high-impact initiatives, partner with senior stakeholders, and help steer the firm through an evolving regulatory environment. In this role you will become a trusted voice within our Office of the General Counsel (OGC), working closely with Compliance, advisory teams, and global colleagues to ensure Vanguard stays ahead of regulatory developments. You'll help drive innovation, including supporting the rollout of cutting-edge AI-enabled regulatory tools, and play a visible role in strengthening our global regulatory change framework.
Responsibilities
- Be a part of the Regulatory Affairs team in Compliance, responsible for coordinating, identifying and assessing the impact of regulatory change across the firm at enterprise and product/service levels.
- Partner with compliance advisory teams to make timely assessments of the high-level impact of regulatory change to help the Regulatory Programme Office (RPO) as project managers, confirm the scope, timing and resource requirements for each regulatory initiative.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external partners to support all initiatives. In particular, you will need to develop positive relationships with the RPO, sponsors and other workstream leads.
- Engage subject matter experts in the wider Office of the General Counsel (OGC) as they interface with the business where appropriate.
- Work with Subject Matter Experts to co-ordinate regulatory horizon scanning and conducting of initial impact analysis.
- Support the testing, onboarding and embedding of a new AI-enabled regulatory intelligence tool and assist in the build-out of an end-to-end global regulatory change management program.
- Contribute to the briefing/training of impacted business functions (and Boards) alongside your fellow OGC colleagues.
- Represent OGC on relevant project committees while also coordinating with regional and global OGC colleagues to ensure awareness and alignment, as appropriate.
- Enhance your impact by developing and maintaining your knowledge and awareness of the investment industry, regulatory and/or policy changes with potential impact on Vanguard's business.
Qualifications
- Proven significant experience working for an international asset management firm, financial services provider, regulator or professional services firm advising on and/or implementing regulatory change.
- Experience of managing complex projects and liaising with a business-led project management office.
- Strong ability to consume, interpret and explain the impact of new regulation.
- An ability to train and hand over work to OGC colleagues who will be assisting with the advisory implementation of these projects.
- A conscious culture carrier, espousing Vanguard's core values and purpose and setting the appropriate tone in OGC.
Other Information
This is a hybrid position and would require you to work in the office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday).
