What You’ll Do
- Lead the design and delivery of real-time and historical data platforms, including integration with market data vendors such as OneTick, Bloomberg and Refinitiv.
- Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, making pragmatic architectural decisions with architects and engineers.
- Remain hands‑on in the development of core platform components, ensuring high-quality engineering delivery.
- Define and enforce standards for performance, resilience, data quality, observability and production stability across critical systems.
- Design and optimise data models, schemas and query patterns for large-scale financial time‑series datasets supporting trading and analytics use cases.
- Own production reliability during trading hours, while driving best practices in monitoring, incident response and mentoring engineers across the team.
What You Bring
- 8+ years' experience as a Senior Backend Developer, with a strong background in financial services, investment banking, banking, or asset management.
- Proven expertise in Java backend development, designing and delivering high-performance, scalable applications.
- Demonstrated experience building real-time investment data solutions, ideally using OMD (Order and Market Data) platforms.
- Experience delivering complex system integrations and scalable data platforms within front-office trading, market data, or investment management environments.
- Ability to act as a senior technical leader, influencing architecture, design, and delivery while working within small, high-performing engineering teams.
