This Senior Specialist role within Enterprise Investment Services (EIS) is part of a team of nine, delivering daily operational support for Fixed Income Portfolio Managers and managing Investment Index Data. The position also involves coaching team members to handle complex issues and projects independently.
Core Responsibilities
Maintain the Fixed Income Investment Book of Records (IBOR).
Perform start‑of‑day and end‑of‑day checks.
Manage liquidity and cashflows.
Monitor trading activity and portfolio movements.
Provide actionable insights to the Investment Team.
Build strong in‑person relationships with Portfolio Managers and Trading Team.
Respond to investment process queries and concerns quickly with valuable insights and explanation.
Engage wider EIS teams to collate information and actions, coordinating with the Settlements Team to minimise failed trades.
Provide coaching to less‑senior Specialists in managing complex queries, developing technical acumen, and supporting projects and fund launches.
Lead complex fund launches and project‑related work, demonstrating high levels of project management capability and governance.
Support the management of Investment and Index Data to ensure accurate and timely representation.
Monitor market and world events and discuss potential impacts on the investing process.
Work with Investment Risk and Operational Risk Teams to improve controls and the control environment.
Identify, build, and drive process improvements—automation, new coding, technological suggestions, and collaborations.
Familiarise with the Vanguard Management System as an approach to continuous improvement (time management, communication, root cause analysis, continuous learning).
Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum of five years related work experience within Fund Operations or Investment Team‑facing role.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Accounting, Finance degree or CFA preferred.
Expertise in fixed income investment markets.
Experience with Aladdin Book of Records platform.
Strong understanding of the investment lifecycle.
Skills and Knowledge
Asset classes including government and corporate bonds, reverse repos, cross currency swaps, IRS, futures, forwards.
Markets including UK, Europe, US and APAC markets (including restricted markets such as India, Thailand, Korea, Philippines, China).
Strategies including both Active and Index investing: Investment Grade, High Yield, Short term money market.
Coaching and training of staff to raise the overall technical capability of the team.
Python, SQL.
Aladdin, CTM, CRIMS.
Special factors
This position is hybrid and will require you to work in office Monday – Friday.
