The Investment Marketing Specialist (Active Fixed Income) is responsible for driving the successful positioning, messaging and go-to-market execution of our AFI products. The role acts as the bridge between Investment Management Group (IMG), Product, Sales and Marketing, ensuring that our AFI offering resonates with target audiences, stands out in the market and supports our business goals and objectives. The role requires deep understanding of fixed income markets, strong storytelling ability, and the capability to translate complex market themes into clear, client‑oriented messages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning
    • Develop and execute marketing plans to elevate the profile of the firm’s active fixed income franchise.
    • Monitor macroeconomic conditions, interest rate developments, and sector‑specific trends to adjust messaging and content priorities.
    • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and client insights to inform marketing plans and messaging.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to align marketing initiatives with commercial objectives.
  • Positioning & Messaging
    • Formulate strategic postures and develop compelling product positioning that reflects investment philosophy, product narrative, alpha drivers, risk management, and track record across strategies (e.g., government bonds, investment grade, high yield, emerging markets debt, multi‑asset credit, and absolute return) and client channels.
    • Create messaging frameworks that resonate with end clients, digital wealth partners, advisers and wholesalers.
    • Work with Content and other partners to align content strategy to product marketing strategy, aligned to channels and audiences.
    • Convert technical portfolio insights into clear narratives for target client segments.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy
    • Plan and execute AFI product launches and feature releases.
    • Collaborate with cross functional teams (e.g. Content, PRD, Channel, IMG) to define launch scope, timelines and assets.
    • Monitor launch performance and iterate on go-to-market strategies.
  • Sales Enablement
    • Create sales tools such as fund brochures, pitch decks, product overviews and fund commentaries that support client conversations and reinforce product value propositions.
    • Train sales teams in partnership with PRD on product features, benefits and positioning.
    • Maintain a library of up‑to‑date materials, ensuring consistent and compliant messaging across regions and channels.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Work closely with portfolio managers, credit analysts, and economists to stay informed about performance, portfolio positioning, and risk themes.
    • Collaborate with product specialists to ensure messaging aligns with strategy objectives and competitive landscape.
    • Coordinate with legal and compliance to ensure all marketing outputs meet applicable fixed‑income regulatory standards.
  • Monitor Product Performance & Market Adoption
    • Monitor flows and AUM trends within fixed income to enhance product storytelling and reporting.
    • Produce regular dashboards for leadership that show how Vanguard is performing in the active fixed income space.
    • Monitor quality engagement metrics to ensure active fixed income material is resonating with clients and client journeys are optimised.

What it takes

  • Proven significant experience in investment marketing, asset management, or financial services with a strong focus on active fixed income.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, specifically bond markets as well as macro economic drivers.
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to simplify intricate fixed income concepts.
  • Strong proficiency in content management systems, analytics tools and understanding of emerging trends in digital communications and AI.
  • Demonstrated project‑management capability with experience delivering cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment with senior stakeholders.

  • This is a hybrid position and would require you to work in the office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday).
