The European Corporate Communications team strengthens and protects Vanguard's reputation. Across audiences and channels, we ensure Vanguard's story is told with clarity, relevance, and humanity. Our team covers the United Kingdom, the DACH region as well as France, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain. We are now looking to grow our team with the hire of an Investment PR specialist, dedicated to publicising Vanguard's investment capabilities and expertise, and highlight our leading economic and market research. This role will be based in London and report to the head of Corporate Communications.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside Vanguard's portfolio managers, investment strategists, and economists to communicate Vanguard's market-leading investment capabilities and expertise.
- Develop and manage relationships with key media across the UK investment, markets, and specialist financial press, including broadcasters.
- Research and write press releases, news bulletins, talking points, and other internal and external communication materials that are professional, effective, and accurate.
- Assist Public Relations and Communications team across the UK, German, Austrian, Italian, Spanish, Swiss and Dutch markets with managing internal stakeholders, preparing PR plans, coverage and activity reports, internal and external presentations, and other materials as needed.
- Manage complex projects independently from strategy development to execution and measurement, engaging managers for guidance and alignment. Ensure alignment with KPIs and optimise performance through collaboration with analytics teams.
- Work collaboratively with marketing, corporate communications, social media, business and strategic communication teams, and investment management personnel.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proven experience of working within investment management, asset management in a PR, journalism or related communications role.
- Strong preference for experience working directly with portfolio managers, analysts, economists, and investment professionals.
- First rate knowledge of the UK media landscape. Established relationships with key journalists in the UK markets, investment, and economic media.
- Ability to work under pressure and to be flexible and resourceful.
- Demonstrated ability to work with various departments and levels of management including senior executives.
- Ability to work effectively and independently on multiple projects with guidance from manager.
- Ability to write quickly and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to cover corporate events outside usual business hours.
