We are now seeking an experienced Site Manager to join our team. Vanguard Healthcare Solutions Modular is part of Vanguard Healthcare Solutions Limited, a UK-based, privately owned, international provider of infrastructure and clinical services supporting healthcare clients worldwide. Our purpose-designed and built mobile and modular facilities provide our clients with new or replacement healthcare spaces including operating theatres, endoscopy suites and sterilisation and diagnostic departments. As part of our solution to our clients, we also support them with clinical teams and equipment for our facilities.

We are looking for a Site Manager to work on a project near Bath on a 5 month, fixed term contract. Working closely with the Project Manager, the Site Manager will ensure that construction works are delivered in accordance with agreed programmes, drawings, specifications and regulatory requirements, particularly within live healthcare environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Site Management & Delivery: Manage day-to-day site operations from set-up to completion and handover, including fencing, welfare and site facilities. Maintain a strong on-site presence to oversee works, resources and subcontractors. Ensure all works are delivered in line with drawings, specifications and method statements.
  • Health, Safety & Environment: Promote and maintain high health, safety and environmental standards on site. Ensure compliance with company procedures, statutory requirements and RAMS. Deliver inductions, toolbox talks, inspections and safety briefings, proactively addressing risks and unsafe practices.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure high-quality delivery. Carry out inspections, snagging and defect management to achieve contractual and regulatory compliance. Liaise with the factory build team in Hull to ensure units are site-ready prior to delivery.
  • Programme & Coordination: Support the Project Manager in delivering works to programme and identifying risks or delays early. Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers to ensure safe, efficient and productive delivery, particularly within live healthcare environments.
  • Client Liaison & Reporting: Act as the main on-site contact for clients, consultants and stakeholders, maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach. Maintain accurate site records through Autodesk, including diaries, permits, inspections and handover documentation.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven Site Manager experience within construction, ideally in healthcare or regulated environments.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and site coordination.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and on-site teams.
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid at Work certified (or willing to obtain).
  • HTM / HBN regulation experience desirable.

Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice.
  • Strong planning, organisation and communication skills.
  • Able to build effective working relationships and work independently.
  • Proactive, customer-focused and solution-oriented mindset.
  • IT literate, including Autodesk and MS Office.
