The training manager plays a pivotal role in shaping the knowledge, skills and performance of Vanguard\’s UK Personal Investor Client Services crew. Responsible for leading a small team of training specialists, the Training Manager ensures that all crew are equipped to deliver seamless, high quality client experiences through a variety of channels. This role combines leadership, strategic planning, governance and hands on collaboration with subject matter experts and extended stakeholders to design and deliver training that supports both immediate business knowledge needs and long-term capability development.
What You\’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and inspire a team of Client Services Trainers
- Develop and implement a long-term training strategy aligned with business goals
- Oversee the planning, scheduling and delivery of training programs across onboarding, ongoing skill development, regulatory and role specific training
- Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts and other key stakeholders to identify and define training needs, learning outcomes and success measures in order to develop effective solutions
- Assess and prioritise training needs in partnership with leaders across departments to ensure resources are allocated effectively
- Set performance standards, review performance, and make informed decisions in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures
- Collaborate with a wide stakeholder group to design and implement a long-term training strategy for the client services function, ensuring alignment with business priorities and client needs
- Evaluate training effectiveness and adjust programs based on feedback, performance data, and evolving business needs
- Ensure governance and compliance across all training materials and frameworks
- Maintain a training and Competence Framework for Client Services
- Balance short-term business needs with long-term capability development
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned
What You\’ll Bring
- Significant experience in training or L&D within financial services, ideally in a contact centre or operational environment
- Strong knowledge of financial services and regulatory frameworks; investment product knowledge is desirable
- Professional qualifications in training design
- Proven leadership skills with experience of coaching, leading and developing a team
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement training strategies that drive performance and improve client outcomes
- Excellent communication, facilitation and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities, with a track record of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
- A degree or equivalent experience; qualifications in financial services or L&D are desirable
