As part of Vanguard’s continued expansion of its global product line-up, we are excited to start the build-out of our European High Yield team. This is a great opportunity to join an established HY team and work in a highly dynamic and collaborative environment.
Vanguard Credit Research is recruiting for a Senior European High Yield Analyst to support the Active High Yield Credit Team. Vanguard’s High Yield team is expanding its global focus with the build out of European High Yield credit capabilities. The team is focused on investing dedicated portfolios, portions of the broader credit funds, and supporting future business development.
As part of the team, you will work with an established group of investment professionals to maximize the risk/return potential of high yield investments while also collaborating with the larger Credit Research Team. The position also provides an opportunity to lead future members of the team in London.
In this role:
In this role you will provide investment recommendations to the team on high yield investments in the European market including fundamental and relative value views. Ideally, we are looking for an analyst who has breadth and depth of experience in covering cyclical and non-cyclical sectors, but we are willing to consider sector specialists as well. Our research process is focused and collaborative and includes written opinions, models and credit presentations. In addition to investment research, you must be willing to take on strategic projects both within the High Yield team and for the broader Fixed Income platform. Importantly, the development of others is a key business focus so you must be willing to provide mentorship and guidance to Crew across the platform. As the team grows you will be responsible for the management of UK based high yield team members so experience managing a team is a plus.
Qualifications (What it takes):
- Undergraduate degree. Graduate degree and CFA preferred.
- Strong performance track record with a minimum of ten years of primary coverage in high yield research.
- Excellent quantitative/modeling skills.
- Experience with Leveraged Loans.
- Managerial and leadership experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills.
