Head of Governance and Risk Reporting, UKPI
Leads a team responsible for the implementation and maintenance of formal governance frameworks pertaining to UK Personal Investor’s (UKPI) risk and control environment. Collaborate with 2nd and 3rd line business partners and support the business to establish and strengthen a highly effective internal control environment across a broad range of stakeholders and activities. Provide effective risk guidance, reporting and assurance to UKPI senior leadership to support ‘risk smart’ decision making.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Promote a ‘risk aware’ culture across the business.
- Build strong relationships with UKPI leaders and senior leadership and act as a trusted advisor, providing high quality consulting and guidance on risk matters, including coaching on ‘best practice’ to aid ‘self-identification’ of risks (existing/ emerging), process and control gaps and/or weaknesses.
- Design, implement and maintain appropriate frameworks to manage and/or mitigate risk, including the recording, tracking, and escalating (where appropriate), of risks identified to senior management through relevant governance structures and fora.
- Oversight of Top Risks, issues (self-identified, Internal Audit and Compliance Monitoring) and associated action plans. Work with key stakeholders across UKPI to ensure robust action plans are in place and delivered timely.
- Facilitate and oversee issues extensions and risk acceptances in line with the enterprise process.
- Responsible for the development of MI reporting across UKPI with a focus on early identification of emerging risks and supporting timely and informed decision making.
- Accountable for all risk reporting across UKPI, including submissions to formal risk governance forums.
- Act as Chair for the UKPI Risk Forum, including creation of supporting documentation, MI.
- Accountable for the creation of supporting documentation and MI for the UKPI Risk Operating committee.
- Drive the continuous improvement of UKPI’s control environment to achieve excellent client and business outcomes and ensure processes remain aligned to the broader Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) and to meet regulatory expectations.
- Responsible for the coordination of periodic activities/ review (e.g. Risk & Control Self-Assessment, ICARA, Risk Appetite Statements, Key risk Indicators, EUCTs) with key stakeholders across UKPI, providing guidance and support plus independent review and challenge.
- Act as the business partner for 2nd and 3rd line functions, supporting the planning of annual monitoring activities.
- Participates and leads in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
