Fund & Investment Operations – Trade Management, Specialist

Oversees and executes the daily operational tasks of the Trade Management team, monitoring controls and procedures to ensure adherence to policies. Acts as an escalation point for technical issues.

Trade Management (TM) in Vanguard supports all trade activities conducted by Vanguard\’s Investment Management Group across all asset classes, ensuring trades are executed accurately and timely to settlement finality. This includes oversight of outsourced providers and in-house settlement activities.

The Trade Management Specialist oversees daily operations, monitors controls, and serves as an escalation point for technical issues.

In this role you will:

• Oversee daily operations and serve as a subject matter expert.
• Provide informal leadership and escalate complex trade issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in operational effectiveness.
• Coach and mentor analysts.
• Maintain ownership of trade confirmation and settlement processes.
• Build effective relationships with internal teams and external clients, including brokers and custodians.
• Monitor settlement environment to minimize trade failures and respond to issues promptly.
• Analyze issues, recommend solutions, and communicate effectively.
• Manage claims related to trade settlement failures.
• Understand and support audit, compliance, and risk guidelines.
• Gather metrics, identify trends, and implement process improvements.
• Stay current on industry and regulatory trends and develop product knowledge.
• Participate in projects and other duties as assigned.

What it takes:

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of trade management experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Understanding of technical issues.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Customer service orientation and team spirit.
