The Senior Proposition Manager will own the end to end design, delivery and ongoing optimisation of Vanguard UK's "Getting Started" proposition - ensuring it attracts, supports and converts new investors and savers into long term, engaged clients. This role carries full commercial accountability for the P&L of the proposition, spanning new-to-investing journeys, early wealth building pathways, and implementation of relevant products and services. It will steward how we utilise evolving regulatory frameworks such as Targeted Support & Simplified Advice to deliver compliant, scalable and outcome driven client experiences.
The Senior Proposition Manager will act as the business owner of the Get Started offer, working cross functionally with Technology, CX, Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance and Marketing to build a proposition that delivers meaningful client outcomes, drives acquisition growth, and strengthens Vanguard's competitive position.
Key Responsibilities- Proposition Ownership & Strategy: Lead the strategic definition and evolution of the 'Get Started' proposition, ensuring clarity of target segments, Client Jobs To Be Done (JTBD) and measurable outcome objectives. Define and maintain the multi year proposition roadmap for new investors and cash first savers, incorporating insights from client research, competitive analysis and business performance. Own the P&L, including commercial modelling, acquisition levers, pricing strategy and operational cost considerations.
- Proposition Design & Delivery: Lead end to end proposition development, including proposition design, business case, capability definition, scope & phasing to support business outcomes. Working with Client Insight functions test proposition enhancements with target clients to support optimization and prioritization of key changes. Partner with delivery teams through discovery to understand Technical, CX and Operational requirements & subsequent delivery plan. Ensure propositions are operationally scalable, partnering with Operations and Client Services to define service models and readiness requirements. Define go-to-market plan working with Marketing & other key stakeholders.
- Product Design: Own propositional & product design for relevant products & wrappers which could include both cash and investment products, ensuring alignment to broader product strategy, external regulatory environment and leveraging opportunities enabled by emerging technologies such as Blockchain. Understand ISA wrapper implications, product governance requirements, and technology impacts. Partner with Product Governance to embed appropriate approvals, risk controls and reporting structures.
- Performance & Continuous Improvement: Own and track value realisation including client outcome metrics, behavioural KPIs, conversion funnels and commercial performance relating to the Get Started propositions. Lead test and learn approaches to drive improvements in acquisition, engagement, and early lifecycle retention. Apply structured insight generation and analytics to inform improvements.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Lead and develop a high performing proposition team, providing clear direction, coaching and accountability while building capability to deliver and scale the Get Started proposition. Act as the central orchestrator for the Get Started proposition across UK Personal Investing - coordinating with Marketing, CX, Technology, Ops, Finance, Legal and Risk. Manage external partners where required. Provide clear storytelling and communication to supporting teams, senior stakeholders and governance forums, ensuring key priorities are factored into our Change Roadmap to support business objectives.
- Essential: Significant experience in proposition development, product ownership or strategy within financial services with exposure to direct to consumer investing, savings products and regulated digital journeys. Experience with cash savings products, ISAs or early stage investor propositions. Strong understanding of UK regulatory frameworks, including Guidance, Targeted Support and Consumer Duty requirements. Proven ability to design and deliver end to end propositions, including experience, capability, op model and technology components. Demonstrated commercial acumen, including P&L ownership, financial modelling and value assessment. Strong cross functional leadership, navigating ambiguity and shaping multi-disciplinary delivery. Experienced people leader with evidence of building and developing a high-performing team.
