As a RMR Sales Engineer you'll contribute to the design and delivery of innovative automation solutions that will operate in complex, real-world environments. You'll work collaboratively with colleagues across departments supporting other Vanderlande regions in the disciplines of Sales Layout Engineering, Sales Engineering and Sales Consultancy. To accommodate a successful growth and to prepare for future readiness, we are looking for a RMR Sales Engineer who enjoys solving solution engineering problems, works collaboratively, and develops their skills over time. Responsibilities
- Support the development of life-cycle plans and Revision, Modification and Retrofit (RMR) projects to keep customers' systems in perfect shape and adapt them to their needs.
- Execute sales plans, consult customers and prepare concepts and pricing for complex RMR projects.
- Co-define the winning sales strategy together with the Sales Manager and translate this strategy into a winning solution.
- Solve commercial and tactical issues and challenges directly with the Sales Manager.
- Translate customer needs into an overall solution, while understanding the customer processes and operations, tender procedures and the different stakeholders.
- Responsible for organizing all sales engineering deliverables throughout the sales process, involving different disciplines and technical experts to arrive at the best possible solution.
- Coordinate and lead the internal sales project team in line with the sales (bid) planning, steering the team towards the winning solution considering the agreed sales strategy.
- Provide updates to senior management on the bid status and progress.
- Bring all aspects of the offer together (technical solution, planning, price, T&Cs) in a clear quotation matching the budget.
- Present the technical solution to the customer in an attractive and interactive way to demonstrate the value of our solution aligned with customer needs.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously across various sales phases.
Qualifications
- Strong listening and analytical skills to understand customer requirements.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering field or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of mechanical design standards and safety requirements (experience with the Machinery Directive is beneficial but not essential).
- Interest in working within multidisciplinary technical and complex environments.
- Structured approach to problem-solving, with attention to detail and quality.
- Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively with others.
- Proven track record in material handling systems in airports preferred.
- Proven track record with customer interaction; presenting and workshops preferred.
- Openness to learning, feedback and continuous improvement.
