Introduction to role
The UK engineering team is part of the global Vanderlande Engineering team, comprising over 1000 engineers across various disciplines. We seek an engineer passionate about designing and developing project solutions, adhering to high standards, and adding value to customers worldwide.
Role Responsibilities
The role involves following established rules, systems, and protocols. It includes administrative, technical, and specialist tasks. The candidate should be dependable, organized, and able to communicate effectively within their expertise. Responsibilities include:
- Review and advise on projects during the sales phase, ensuring compliance and translating functionality into LLC designs within budget.
- Assist Project Leaders and Managers with technical and multidisciplinary solutions.
- Create detailed system and controls architecture designs based on project requirements.
- Develop controls applications and integrate them into systems per LLC standards.
- Perform pre-commissioning activities, including I/O testing and cabinet functionality checks.
- Conduct commissioning tests for functionality, capacity, and requirements.
- Participate in LLC integration, including interfacing with third-party equipment and SCADA systems.
- Prepare documentation, test plans, and validation procedures aligned with MTP and other disciplines.
- Execute in-house and on-site testing, supporting integration tests.
- Develop LLC project plans based on overall schedules.
- Report progress regularly to the Project Leader.
Role Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in LLC coding on platforms like Siemens S7.
- Knowledge of SCADA applications such as WinCC and WebFactory.
- Experience in developing safety systems using Siemens S7-F, PILZ, and conventional platforms.
- Ability to perform health and safety risk analyses at component and system levels.
- Understanding of material handling systems at a system level.
- Knowledge of customer processes within relevant market segments.
- Experience with EM components, cabinets, and field wiring.
- Familiarity with test strategies, risk analysis, and tools like Quality Center, UFT/QTP, Jenkins.
- Knowledge of material handling equipment such as DOTM, RAW, ICS, ASRS, loops.
- Understanding of business process automation (HLC).
