The QHSE Coordinator will support the QHSE Manager in delivering robust Quality, Health, Safety and Environment performance across Heathrow Airport operations.
Role Responsibilities
This role is responsible for coordinating safety activities, managing reporting systems, maintaining compliance documentation, supporting audits, and promoting a proactive safety culture among engineering teams, managers, and customer stakeholders. Working Monday to Friday, this coordinator role ensures that safety standards are effectively implemented, monitored, and continuously improved in line with Vanderlande QHSE policies and requirements.
Your responsibilities and activities will include:
- Support implementation of the Vanderlande QHSE Policies to drive improvements and gain / maintain certification.
- Promote a proactive approach to Health & Safety, including engagement with site management, engineers, and the customer.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety performance KPI's.
- Assist teams in compiling and communicating user friendly documentation to manage QHSE risks and promotional materials e.g. Tool Box Talks.
- Administrator of the internal HSE reporting tool (VelocityEHS), including raising analytical reports and liaising with site teams to complete investigations and hazards reports.
- Responsible for the scheduling of Fire, PUWER and Workplace risk assessments, as contracted by the customer, and coordination with the QHSE Advisers to ensure completion.
- Track and manage actions that derive from Risk Assessments and Safety Walks; engage with the relevant stakeholders and internal departments to ensure actions are closed in a timely manner; produce reports and presentations detailing the status of actions.
- Scheduling of both site and senior leadership Safety Walks/Inspections; liaising with site teams and managers to ensure completion; produce reports and presentations to highlight Safety Walk performance.
- Responsible for the collation and submission of monthly safety performance data from site teams; production of reports and presentations highlighting safety performance.
- Working closely with the customer to ensure a joint approach in Health & Safety with respect to the completion of risk assessments, safety walks and action tracking.
- Communicate companywide issues to relevant teams.
- Assist QHSE Manager in meeting objectives.
Role Qualification and Skills
- Knowledge of health & safety legislation (desired) and previous experience in a similar role.
- Excellent interpersonal, written oral and presentation skills.
- Able to work autonomously and work well within multiple teams, including directly with the customer.
- Strong IT skills using Microsoft applications e.g. Powerpoint, Word, Excel etc.
- Experience of analysing data to identify trends and build reports for the QHSE Manager and UK Head of QHSE.
- Excellent communication skills and experience of engaging with site teams through to senior managers.
- Internal Auditing qualification (desired).
- Experience in coordinating external customer and/or internal teams for completion of health & safety related activities e.g. Safety Walks.
