Introduction to role
As an Analytics Team Leader, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the analytics team, ensuring that communication flows smoothly and that collaboration is effective. You will lead by example, motivate the team, and work proactively to maintain efficient operations. The role requires a hands-on approach to managing the team's performance, fostering an inspiring work environment, and achieving team and organisational goals.
Role Responsibilities
- You'll work alongside analysts, operational teams, engineers and stakeholders across the business building the datasets, reports, and insights that inform decisions and enable safe growth of our contract performance.
- Manage day-to-day team activities, ensuring smooth operations and meeting performance objectives. Establishing clear goals for both individuals and the team, aligning with the organisation's objectives.
- Lead Performance for Vanderlande in our Strategic Partnership with Heathrow with a focus on our Service KPIs.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and that any challenges are resolved quickly.
- Actively motivate and engage team members, recognising and celebrating high performance and success.
- Assist in identifying team training needs and support in the development of skills required to meet organisational goals.
- Address and resolve any internal team issues or conflicts, promoting a collaborative and harmonious environment.
- Work closely with other departments across the organisation to support business objectives and share best practices.
- Attend customer meetings as required, representing the team and organisation in a professional manner.
Role Qualification and Skills
- Understanding of data analytics with familiarisation in extract (SQL), transform (Python / R) and load pipeline.
- Experience in data visualisation and associated visualisation tools.
- Understanding and experience in statistical analysis.
- Strategic Stakeholder Management: A proven ability to act as a bridge between technical data and business needs. You can translate "vague requests" into concrete technical requirements and present findings to senior leadership with confidence.
- Insight Delivery & Storytelling: You possess a "so what?" mindset. You have a track record of moving beyond descriptive reporting to deliver predictive insights that drive measurable commercial value.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire team members with experience in line management.
- Proficiency in performance management and reporting.
- Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload ensuring that key deadlines are met.
- Deep experience and understanding in the operation of LHR Baggage system (Preferred).
- Experience in service / operations with exposure to performance metrics, productivity analysis and outsourced contract delivery.
