Are you ready to take the next step in your sales career? Vanderlande is offering an excellent opportunity for a sales-driven individual who builds customer relationships, acts as an entrepreneur, and consistently closes deals.
In this role, your challenge is to expand Vanderlande’s market position in the UK and Ireland, operating within a highly competitive market. Within our Warehousing segment, you will work with world-leading clients, assisting them in further improving their business goals.
Role Responsibilities
As a Senior Sales Manager, you are always at the forefront. Your top priority is to create business opportunities and secure new projects. Achieving this involves defining a winning strategy for market development, which you develop collaboratively with your colleagues. The Sales Department at our Birmingham branch plays a pivotal role within our large Dutch-based organisation. Focused on three market segments – General Merchandise, Fashion, and Food – this department collaborates closely with the local and internationally based Sales Engineering team. Their efforts significantly contribute to Vanderlande’s growth and profitability in the UK and Ireland.
Your responsibilities and activities will include:
- Gather relevant technical information and insights into the bidding process
- Working alongside your sales colleagues, and being responsible for creating and executing the sales and marketing plan
- Showcasing proposals which exceed customer expectations by demonstrating a deep understanding of their business processes and values.
- Actively influence decision-making processes and cultivate strong senior management relationships with the relevant Decision-Making Units (DMUs) of both existing and potential customers
- Overseeing and coordinating the team throughout the entire sales cycle – from negotiating terms and conditions to crafting a winning proposal that emphasizes value over price
- Have a solid understanding of the accounts’ business model which aligns with Vanderlande’s overall strategy, resulting in mutually beneficial framework agreements and guaranteed repeat business
Role Qualification and Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- Several years of commercial experience, preferably in a B2B environment
- Strong business acumen and a robust sales spirit
- A creative and efficient approach to building professional client relationships
- High analytical ability and natural negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel within the UK/Ireland and the Netherlands
- Comfort working in an international environment with diverse cultures
- Proven track record of successfully delivering multimillion-euro projects
- Experience in Warehousing automation is preferred
