As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will contribute to the design and delivery of complex, safety‑critical material handling systems used by customers around the world. You will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where diverse perspectives are valued and where you are supported to grow your technical and professional capabilities.

We are looking for people who enjoy solving engineering problems, working collaboratively, and developing their skills over time. If you are excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement listed, we still encourage you to apply — we value potential, learning mindset, and diverse perspectives.

Role Responsibilities

You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, customers and suppliers to develop practical, compliant and cost-effective electrical solutions. The role includes undertaking electrical calculations, coordinating technical interfaces, producing design documentation, supporting procurement and installation activities, and maintaining accurate engineering records to ensure successful project delivery.

Your responsibilities and activities will include:

  • Support and promoting a safety-first culture, ensuring health and safety considerations are embedded into designs from the outset.
  • Reviewing project requirements and contributing to feasibility assessments in collaboration with the Project Leader Engineering (PLE).
  • Defining and planning electrical engineering activities, deliverables, and timelines together with the wider project team.
  • Designing complete electrical installations, including power distribution, control cabinets, field wiring, and associated mechanical supports.
  • Producing electrical schematics, calculations, and documentation to support manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
  • Ensuring electrical designs comply with applicable safety standards and regulations to ensure safety, quality and compliance.
  • Supporting site teams and subcontractors through clear instructions, technical guidance, and collaborative problem solving.
  • Continuously developing your skills and contributing to improvements in processes and ways of working.
Role Qualification and Skills

Have a degree or equivalent qualification in electrical engineering or a related discipline. Understand electrical power distribution and control systems. Experience in electrical design for industrial or low‑voltage installations. Knowledge of automated material handling, airport, parcel or industrial automation systems would be advantageous. Familiarity with engineering tools such as EPLAN and/or AutoCAD (training and support can be provided). Awareness of industrial communication networks such as PROFINET, PROFIBUS, AS‑i, or similar technologies. Knowledge of electrical design standards and safety requirements (experience with the Machinery Directive is beneficial but not essential). An interest in working within multidisciplinary engineering environments (mechanical, electrical, software, safety). A structured approach to problem‑solving, with attention to detail and quality. The ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with others. An openness to learning, feedback, and continuous improvement.
