Introduction to role
Vanderlande is the global market leader in efficient logistics process automation for the airport, warehousing, and parcel sectors.
In this role, the successful candidate will join a dedicated team of experienced engineers supporting a major UK airlineβs retail operations. The team is responsible for ensuring that outbound flights are fully stocked with retail products, enhancing the passenger experience, and managing the efficient return and processing of unsold stock.
To streamline these operations, the airline has invested in advanced automated warehousing solutions provided by Vanderlande. The onsite Vanderlande team plays a critical role in maintaining this equipment to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and reliability.
Role Responsibilities
You will be supported to achieve a nationally recognised engineering qualification, depending on your prior experience and qualifications. This may include:
- Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship, or
- Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship
Your first year will typically be spent at a local college or training provider, where you will complete the relevant academic and practical components. You will then continue your learning and development on-site at the customer location.
As an Apprentice Service Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Complying with all health and safety rules and regulations.
- Supporting the maintenance and performance of automated systems and equipment.
- Assisting with fault-finding and repairs across mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Participating in preventive and reactive maintenance tasks.
- Working collaboratively with experienced engineers to ensure system uptime and customer satisfaction.
Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be eligible to apply for a permanentService Technicianrole within Vanderlande.
