Job Title: Junior Sales Engineer
Reports to: Project Manager Engineering
Location: Manchester - Northern Office

Responsibilities
- Support the development of Life‑cycle plans and Revision, Modification and Retrofit (RMR) projects to keep customer systems in perfect shape and adapt them to their needs.
- Execute sales plans, consult customers, and prepare concepts and pricing for complex RMR projects.
- Support, challenge, and team up with internal stakeholders in pre‑bid, bid, and closing phases to jointly secure projects.
- Prepare the concept and pricing for the project and align with all internal and external parties involved (Pricing, Procurement, Planning, Engineering).
- After a project is won, secure and organise a successful project kick‑off with the Service Project Manager.
- Work comfortably and flexibly on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Prepare and present convincingly the technical content to the customer.
- Co‑define the winning sales strategy with the Sales Manager and translate this strategy into a winning solution.
- Solve commercial and tactical issues and challenges directly with the Sales Manager.
- Translate customer needs into an overall solution, understanding the customer processes, operations, tender procedures, and stakeholders.
- Organise all sales engineering deliverables throughout the sales process, involving different disciplines and technical experts.
- Coordinate and lead the internal sales project team in line with sales (bid) planning, steering the team towards the winning solution.
- Provide updates to senior management on the bid status and progress.
- Bring all aspects of the offer together (e.g., technical solution, planning, price, T&Cs) in a clear quotation matching the calculated budgets.
- Present the technical solution to the customer in an attractive and interactive way, matching the customer’s needs.
- Work on various projects in various sales phases simultaneously.
- Listen to and analyse customer requirements.
Please note: occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering field or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of mechanical design standards and safety requirements; experience with the Machinery Directive is beneficial but not essential.
- Interest in working within multidisciplinary technical and complex environments.
- Structured approach to problem‑solving, with attention to detail and quality.
- Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively with others.
- Proven track record in material handling systems in airports is preferred.
- Proven track record with customer interaction; presenting and workshops preferred.
- Openness to learning, feedback, and continuous improvement.
