The UK & Ireland Airports Engineering department forms part of our worldwide engineering community of more than 1,000 colleagues across multiple technical disciplines. As a Project Manager Engineering, you will collaborate across sales, design, and delivery teams to help shape and implement innovative baggage handling solutions for our key customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept through to delivery.
- Create a positive, collaborative team environment, ensuring clarity, communication, and empathy across colleagues and stakeholders.
- Support and promote a safety‑first culture, ensuring that technical health and safety considerations are integrated into all design decisions.
- Act as the Solution Lead from sales through execution, ensuring smooth transitions between teams.
- Develop and manage project plans, engineering resources, and deliverables.
- Manage and coordinate engineering projects which may include large or complex programmes.
- Provide inclusive leadership to a multidisciplinary engineering team, focusing on coaching, development, and well‑being.
- Manage engineering budgets, identify risks and opportunities, and support decision‑making.
- Partner with customers and external parties as a trusted technical voice.
- Promote continuous improvement in engineering project management processes, sharing best practices across the engineering community.
Qualifications and Skills
- A degree (or equivalent experience) in an Engineering or Technical discipline.
- Experience leading engineering projects or teams in dynamic environments.
- Knowledge of project management principles and experience with multidisciplinary engineering projects (e.g., electrical, mechanical, controls, safety).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships across teams and stakeholders.
- Chartered Engineer status or a desire and commitment to work towards professional registration (we will support you).
