Job Title: Family Physician / Emergency Physician

Status: Part Time, Full Time (0.2 – 1.0 FTE)

Come work as a Family Physician / Emergency Physician with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!
This is an opportunity for a Family Physician (FP) or Emergency Physician (EP) to work either in a full-time or part-time position at the North East Urgent and Primary Care Clinic (UPCC) in Vancouver.
The NE UPCC provides urgent care for patients with non-life-threatening injuries, illnesses and conditions that should be addressed within 12 to 24 hours, but do not require the service and expertise of a hospital emergency department (CTAS 3,4,5). The UPCC will operate 7 days per week, year round, Mon-Sat 0800-2200 and Sunday and Holidays from 0900-1700.
The clinic provides team-based care, with off-site rapid access to X-ray, ultrasound and labs. Patients are linked to appropriate care pathways that include specialist, social service, and primary care. Of particular note: all treatment and follow-up will be carefully integrated with existing Primary Care providers, and patients will be supported to find Primary Care if unattached.
The Vancouver NE UPCC supports a healthy work-life balance and will focus on the professional development and satisfaction of its multidisciplinary team. The clinic supports learning, skill development and continuous quality improvement through clinical simulation exercises and a range of quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Education, Licensing, & Experience:
- Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) Eligible – Mandatory
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) License – Provisional
Knowledge & Abilities:
- Combines current or recent experience in primary care along with urgent or emergent care, with a clear understanding of the role and importance of foundational primary care, with the ability to integrate the two.
- Positive, energetic, and empathic with strong communication skills and natural attention to detail.
