Student Services supports students at each stage of their journey from pre‑entry to post exit. The department has a student orientated culture and puts students needs at the heart of everything it does.

We are now looking for a Youth Worker who will contribute to a wide and varied programme, which will include co‑leading and delivering a range of activities to students. We would like our Youth Worker to be qualified to Level 3 or above in an appropriate subject (Youth & Community, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Health & Social Care or IAG) and have experience of working with and delivering activities to young people predominantly 16‑18, from a variety of backgrounds, understanding the needs and issues surrounding them and the difficulties the students face.

You have experience of youth and community work/enrichment and/or targeted assessment, intervention and support, and of positively engaging young people and working with them to improve behaviour, skills and confidence in challenging situations. You will be able to lead on the planning and delivery of enrichment activities and events to support and enhance the student experience and demonstrate the ability to deliver student workshops/presentations or tutorials.

Although this role is primarily based at Kingston College, you may be required to travel to or work from any of the South Thames Colleges Group sites.

Closing date for the return of completed applications is 16th January 2026.

The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 27 days plus up to 8 additional days over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees physical and mental health. The benefits package will be pro‑rated for part‑time staff.

As outlined in the Public Sector Equality Duty of the Equality Act 2010, we are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender re‑assignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.

As part of our due diligence checks on prospective employees, successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, an online search and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
