We are recruiting for a Maintenance Operative with electrical knowledge and expertise to join our Maintenance team at Bents!
What’s the role?
We are looking for a proactive and skilled Maintenance Operative to support the upkeep, safety and smooth running of our site. This is an ideal role for someone with a strong hands-on approach, who has electrical experience and is either qualified or working towards a recognised electrical qualification. You will play a key role in ensuring our facilities are maintained to a high standard, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for both customers and colleagues.
Your daily role will include:
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the site
- Supporting electrical maintenance, fault finding and minor installations
- Conducting routine inspections of equipment, systems and facilities
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
- Assisting with general building maintenance including basic repairs
- Liaising with external contractors where required
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Electrical knowledge and practical experience (essential)
- Relevant electrical qualifications or currently working towards them
- Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
- A flexible, can-do attitude with a willingness to support across different maintenance tasks
- Good understanding of health & safety practices
- Ability to prioritise workload and respond to urgent issues
Desirable:
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (or working towards)
- Experience in a retail, hospitality or large-site environment
- Basic knowledge of other trades (plumbing, joinery, etc.)
This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week that will include weekdays, evenings and weekend work. A flexible approach is required. The role is permanent. Rate of pay – £13.75 per hour.
