We are recruiting for a Maintenance Operative with electrical knowledge and expertise to join our Maintenance team at Bents!

What’s the role?

We are looking for a proactive and skilled Maintenance Operative to support the upkeep, safety and smooth running of our site. This is an ideal role for someone with a strong hands-on approach, who has electrical experience and is either qualified or working towards a recognised electrical qualification. You will play a key role in ensuring our facilities are maintained to a high standard, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment for both customers and colleagues.

Your daily role will include:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the site
  • Supporting electrical maintenance, fault finding and minor installations
  • Conducting routine inspections of equipment, systems and facilities
  • Responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety regulations
  • Assisting with general building maintenance including basic repairs
  • Liaising with external contractors where required
  • Maintaining accurate records of work completed

Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • Electrical knowledge and practical experience (essential)
  • Relevant electrical qualifications or currently working towards them
  • Previous experience in a maintenance or facilities role
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • A flexible, can-do attitude with a willingness to support across different maintenance tasks
  • Good understanding of health & safety practices
  • Ability to prioritise workload and respond to urgent issues

Desirable:

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (or working towards)
  • Experience in a retail, hospitality or large-site environment
  • Basic knowledge of other trades (plumbing, joinery, etc.)

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week that will include weekdays, evenings and weekend work. A flexible approach is required. The role is permanent. Rate of pay – £13.75 per hour.
